Description of Exercise:
In the sport of Obedience, pivots with the dog are generally preformed on the article and glove exercises. In the sport of Rally, pivots occur in a number of signs that can be performed during a run. For agility, nosework, and other dog sports, pivots can be used to accurately line your dog up at the beginning of a fun. Regardless of the sport your dog should maintain heel position or be close to the seam of your pants throughout the pivot. Before teaching the pivot, your dog should know how to move in heel position or close to your side both forward and backward and know how to sit when you stop.
